The working principle of DOD printer used piezoeletric material in an ink-filled chamber behind each nozzle. when a voltage is applied, the piezoeletric material changes shape, generating a pressure pulse in the fluid, which forces a droplet of ink from nozzle. A dod process uses software which directs the heads to apply droplets from zero to eight in ink per dot, only where needed.
